With increased pressure to make immediate reductions on carbon emissions, a 63-year old Yorkshire inventor could be on the brink of something big with an innovative energy efficient unit that can be fitted to existing central heating systems. The Tadpole, as the device is known, patented by Stan Whetsone of Tadpole Energy Ltd in North Yorkshire, is a small unit which tags onto any kind of boiler system to significantly increase efficiency and subsequently reduce energy consumption, CO2 emissions and energy bills by up to 25%. This winter I tested a device designed to transfer central heating. The Tadpole is a small gizmo which takes the air out of the system, increasing efficiency and cutting fuel consumption by up to 25 per cent. The coldest winter in a decade means I can’t compare fuel use with previous years. But our radiators and water are much hotter and we never once had to “bleed” the radiators. Read more…
